Air Iceland

Air Iceland is an Icelandic airline operating regional flights to Greenland, the Faroe Islands as well as domestic destinations throughout Iceland. Flying to 13 destinations, the primary operating hub of the airline is at Reykjavik Airport, while it also has an additional base at Akureyri Airport. Air Iceland was initially founded in 1975 before merging with a domestic airline to form Air Iceland in 1997. The airline is owned by Icelandair Group, owner of the largest airline in Iceland, and has a fleet of 5 aircraft.

How to Check in

Passengers flying with Air Iceland are able to check in over the web from the convenience of your own home, or you can check in at a counter at the airport just as easily. Checking in online is available for flights leaving Reykjavik Airport from 24 hours up to 90 minutes before international flights and 45 minutes before domestic flights. It is also possible to receive your boarding pass to your mobile device or print it off before getting to the airport. Passengers checking in at the airport need to check it at least 45 minutes before domestic flights and 90 minutes before international flights.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

All Air Iceland travelers are entitled to bring baggage to check in as part of the fare except those with a Netoffers fare. Passengers are allowed one bag up to 20kg of baggage to check in, increased to two bags up to 20kg each for Business Card holders. Those with a Netoffers fare will have to purchase any baggage to check in at a cost of 55AED* per 20kg bag online, while rates offered at the airport are a little more expensive. All passengers are also permitted to bring hand baggage on board flights with a maximum weight of 6kg.

On board Air Iceland flights passengers can enjoy a range of refreshments from the in-flight menu to stay refreshed during the journey. In addition to this, the airline also offers extensive duty free shopping on flights so you can pick up some last minute gifts and souvenirs.
