Air Italy

Air Italy is an airline owned by Meridiana, an Italian airline operating flights to over 60 destinations. Currently all of Air Italy’s flight routes have been assimilated into the Meridiana network since the two airlines merged in 2011. Initially established in 2005, Air Italy previously owned two subsidiary airlines, Air Italy Egypt and Air Italy Polska, before becoming a part of Meridiana. How to Check in

Passengers catching flights with Air Italy are able to check in over the web from the convenience of your home, or you can do things the traditional way by checking in at the airport. Travelers wishing to check in online can do so from 7 days up to 2 hours before scheduled departure times and are also able to select a preferred seat. However, be advised the checking in online is only available from select airports, so be sure to check with the airline if you plan to check in over the web. Alternatively, if you want to check in at the airport simply visit an Air Italy or Meridiana check in counter to complete the process. Counters open 2 hours before domestic flights and between 2 hours 30 minutes and 4 hours before international flights depending on your destination.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Travelers flying with Air Italy are usually entitled to bring baggage to check in, although how much you are allowed will depend on your destination and cabin class. However, those with an Economy Light fare will need to purchase bags, with one bag priced at 100AED* and additional bags costing 250AED* each. Be sure to check directly with the airline about your baggage allowance before flying so you don’t end up paying excess baggage fees. As well as checked baggage, passengers are allowed to bring one item of hand baggage on board flights up to 8kg and no larger than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm.

Seating

Air Italy offers passengers the chance to select a seat in advance for a small fee, with prices varying according to your destination. However, selecting a seat is available free of charge within 30 hours of your flight if you want to avoid paying an additional fee. There are Standard seats available as well as Economy Comfort seats which offer improved legroom and front of cabin seating to disembark the plane quickly upon landing.

Booking Fees

A small surcharge is added when booking flights with Air Italy whether it is on their website, from a call center or at the airport. A surcharge of 20AED* is payable for booking made online or through a call center, while a charge of 40AED* is payable when purchasing tickets at an airport office.
