Blue Air

Blue Air is Romania’s largest airline first established in 2004 before growing to carry over 3.5 million passengers over 2016. Out of its two primary hubs at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport and Turin Airport, the airline provides flights to 70 destinations around Europe as well as domestic flights. Blue Air is growing rapidly - it has more than doubled its annual number of passengers from 2014 to 2016 and is set to open additional bases in the future.

How to Check in

Those flying with Blue Air are able to check-in online or do things the conventional way at the airport. For those wishing to check-in online, the check-in service is available at most airports although some airports do not yet support this. Be sure to check with the airline if your flight supports online check-ins if you are planning to do so. Travelers are also able to check-in to Blue Air flights at the airport - check-in counters open up to 3 hours 30 minutes before flights and close 40 minutes before departure. Those checking in online will be able to print off a boarding pass in order to skip the queues.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Passengers are allowed to check baggage into the hold for an additional fee and are also entitled to bring hand baggage on board free of charge. Travelers can purchase baggage allowances by the item with a limit of 32kg, although the prices vary according to the time of year so check directly with the airline for up to date prices. The airline also allows passengers to bring hand baggage on board up to 10kg. Any passenger bringing baggage that exceeds your weight allowance will incur excess baggage fees.

On Board Service

Passengers flying on Blue Air flights have the option to pre-purchase meals before boarding in order to enjoy delicious food during your flight. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menu options are available starting at 30AED*. Passengers will need to purchase meals at least 14 hours before flight departure times. Be advised that meal service is not currently offered on all flights, so be sure to check with the airline about your flight if you are interested in enjoying a meal on board.
