Flybe was first launched in 1979 under the name of Jersey European Airways before adopting its current name in 2002. The airline operates flights to over 100 destinations and is based in Exeter International Airport. Flybe handles over 7 million passengers each year and has a fleet of 79 aircraft. How to Check In

Passengers with Flybe are able to check-in online or the conventional way at a kiosk at your chosen airport. The web check-in service is available from 36 hours up to 1 hour before your scheduled flight departure time. Those checking in online must be able to print out your boarding pass in order to get on your flight. After checking in, passengers can utilize self-service check-in kiosks at the airport to speed up the process. Those on international flights are able to check-in using these kiosks up to 45 minutes before your flight with hand baggage only and one hour with checked baggage. Domestic passengers can self check-in only 20 minutes before departure with hand baggage only and 30 minutes with checked baggage.

Baggage Allowance and Fees

Depending on the specific fare you have purchased, some passengers are entitled to free checked baggage while others must make an additional purchase to check-in baggage. For passengers flying on a Just Fly fare, checked baggage must be purchased and this can be done online up to two hours before your departure. Travelers should be advised to arranging checked baggage online is significantly cheaper compared to the prices available at the airport. Those on a Get More fare are able to check-in one item up to 20kg, while travelers with an All In fare are permitted two items up to 40kg in total. All passengers are allowed to bring one item of on-board luggage no heavier than 10kg or larger than 55cm x 35cm x 20cm. Additional fees apply for any passenger with baggage overweight or oversized which is payable at the airport.

Seating

All passengers on Flybe flights have the option to select a seat in advance before flying, although the fare you have bought will determine whether this will incur an additional fee or not. Those on a Get More or All In fare are allowed to select a seat in advance free of charge, while those on an All In ticket are afforded the additional privilege of selecting a seat with extra legroom free of charge. Just Fly passengers will need to pay an added charge in order to select a specific seat. All passengers will be automatically allocated a seat free of charge if no specific seat has been selected. All Flybe flights offer a selection of snacks, drinks and duty free products on board that can be purchased as they are not included in your fare.
