Iraqi Airways

Iraqi Airways is Iraq’s national carrier providing flights to over 35 domestic and international destinations including Dubai International Airport. Its headquarters and main operating base is at Baghdad International Airport, and its owned by the Iraqi government with has a fleet of over 30 aircraft. First established in 1945, Iraqi Airways is a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization and began work to modernize its fleet of aircraft in 2008.

How to Check in

Passengers flying with Iraqi Airways are able to check in the old fashioned way at an Iraqi Airways check-in counter at your chosen airport. During the check-in process you will be allocated a seat on the plane and are also able to check-in any baggage. The airline does not yet support online check-ins but may introduce this feature in the future.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Travelers flying with Iraqi Airways are permitted to bring baggage to check-in as part of the fare, although how much you can bring depends on your cabin class and destination. Be sure to check with the airline to receive accurate information about baggage allowances on your flight, although baggage allowances tend to be between 20 to 40 kilograms. In addition to checked baggage, passengers are also allowed to bring hand baggage on board no heavier than 7kg or larger than 43cm x 28cm x 23cm. On top of this, a further personal item such as a duty free bag or a handbag is allowed on board free of charge.

Iraqi Airways provide a number of excellent services and amenities on board flights to make your journey as pleasant as possible. This includes complimentary food and drink throughout flights to keep passengers refreshed. The airline also offers modern in-flight entertainment with an array of movies, TV shows and music to keep you entertained throughout your flight.
