Jetstar Asia

Jetstar Asia is a Singaporean budget airline with its main hub at Singapore Changhi Airport. The airline primarily operates flights around Southeast Asia and currently flies to 28 destinations. Its parent company is Jetstar Airways, an Australian airline that is itself a subsidiary of Qantas. Initially founded in 2004, Jetstar Asia merged with Valuair in 2005, one of Singapore’s first low-cost airlines. As well as holding interline agreements with many airlines, Jetstar Asia has codeshare agreements with leading airlines including Emirates and Qantas. The airline has been the recipient of numerous awards recognizing its excellence including the Best Low Cost Airline in Southeast Asia & Asia in 2006 and 2008.

How to Check in

Passengers flying with Jetstar Asia are able to check-in in a number of different ways at your convenience including online, at a self-service kiosk or at an airport counter. Those looking to check-in online can do so from 48 hours up to 1 hour before departures and also allow passengers to select a preferred seat for a fee, while there are numerous self-service check-in kiosks available at Singapore Changhi Airport. Alternatively, checking in at the airport is just as easy and counters open 3 hours before international flights and 2 hours before domestic flights.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Travelers looking to check-in baggage will need to pay an additional fee, although Jetstar Asia does allow passengers to bring hand baggage on board free of charge. For those looking to bring checked baggage, payment can be made when purchasing your ticket or checking in online. One item of baggage weighing up to 23kg is available at a price of 145AED*. Passengers are entitled to bring one item of hand baggage up to 7kg, increased to two items up to 7kg each in Business Class.


Jetstar Asia offer regular Economy Class seating in addition to premium Business Class seats for those looking for a premium flying experience. During the online check-in process, passengers are able to select a preferred seat for an additional fee. Alternatively, you are also able to select a preferred seat for free whilst checking in at the airport, although these are subject to availability.
