KLM

KLM, short for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, is the flag carrier of the Netherlands and the world’s oldest airline. Headquartered in Amstelveen close by to its main operating hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, KLM offers flights to destinations all around the globe. Founded in 1919, the airline entered into a merger with Air France in 2004 and is also a prominent member of the SkyTeam alliance. How to Check in

Passengers flying with KLM are able to check-in online or do things the old fashioned way at the airport either at a designated check-in counter or at one of the self-service check-in machines if available. The online check-in service is available from 30 hours up to 1 hour before scheduled flight departure times. Passengers should be aware that you will need to print off your boarding pass in order to board the flight. If checking in baggage, designated baggage drop off points open 2 hours before your flight leaves. KLM check-in desks open at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol from 05.00am for all passengers needing to check-in at the airport in person.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

KLM flights allow passengers to check-in baggage as well as bring hand baggage on board, although specific allowances will depend on your flights class and destination. On intercontinental flights, Economy Class passengers can check-in one item of baggage up to 23kg and no larger than 158cm in dimensions, while Business Class passengers a permitted two items of baggage up to 32kg each. Members of the Flying Blue frequent flyer program and SkyTeam Elite are entitled to an additional item of baggage. Economy Class passengers are allowed to bring one item of hand baggage no heavier than 12kg, while Business Class passengers can bring two items of hand baggage no more than 18kg on board.

Seating

KLM passengers in Economy Class are afforded ample legroom with a seat pitch of 31 inches, increased to 35 inches for those with an Economy Comfort ticket. Those in Business Class can look forward to a generous 60 inch seat pitch and reclining seats to stretch out during the flight. On board the flight, passengers can enjoy a wide selection of entertainment including movies, television and games. In addition to this, all flight classes are served up a delicious in-flight meal and are able to make any last minute tax-free purchases before landing.

Booking Fees

Any taxes and surcharges are included in your ticket price and are clearly stated by the airline. In some cases a booking fee may apply depending on the country you are in, although most online bookings will not incur any booking fee.
