LAN Airlines, now rebranded as LATAM Airlines, is a Chilean airline that was once the flag carrier of Chile in the 1990s before becoming a private company. The main hub of the airline is at Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport and its headquarters are situated in Santiago, the capital of Chile. LATAM Airlines flies to 66 destinations primarily across the Americas with a fleet of 150 aircraft. The airline is part of the Oneworld alliance and also offers access to its frequent flyer program, LATAM Pass.

How to Check in

Travelers flying with LAN Airlines are able to check-in over the web to save time at the airport, or you can do things the traditional way at a LAN Airlines check-in counter. Most LAN Airlines flights can be checked in to from 48 hours up to 2 hours before flights and also offers travelers the chance to select a preferred seat. Alternatively, checking in at the airport is just as straightforward if you are not able to get online before your flight.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

LAN Airlines allow passengers to check-in baggage as part of the fare, although how much you can bring varies according to your destination and cabin class. LAN Airlines flights offer a regular Economy Class alongside Premium Economy and Business Class for those looking for a superior flight experience. In Economy passengers are afforded ample legroom with a seat pitch of 30-32 inches, increased to 34 in Premium Economy. In Business Class passengers can look forward to generous legroom with a seat pitch of 74-75 inches. The airline also allows travelers to select a preferred seat at no additional charge.
