Luxair is the flag carrier of Luxembourg operating flights across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. From its main hub at Luxembourg Findel Airport just outside of Luxembourg City, Luxair flies to over 60 destinations with a fleet of 17 aircraft. Although the airline was officially established in 1962 as Luxair, it has its origins in the older Luxembourg Airlines which was founded in 1948. Luxair is a part of the Miles & More frequent flyer program headed by Lufthansa and holds codeshare agreements with leading carriers including Air France and Turkish Airlines.

How to Check in

Travelers catching flights with Luxair are able to check-in over the web or at the airport to suit your needs. Those looking to check-in online can do so from 24 hours up to 1 hour before flights and are able to select a seat and print off a boarding pass. Alternatively, check-in using your mobile device and receive an electronic boarding pass if you don’t have access to a printer. Those looking to check-in at the airport can visit a Luxair counter or check-in via a kiosk. Be sure to get to the airport well in advance of your flight if you are checking in just to stay on the safe side.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Passengers with Luxair are entitled to bring baggage to check-in to the hold as part of the fare, although how much you can bring will depend on your cabin class. Those sat in Economy are allowed one item of checked baggage up to 23kg, while in Business Class this is increased to two items up to 32kg each. Economy passengers are offered the option of upgrading to 32kg of baggage for a fee of 200AED*, while additional bags can be purchased in both cabin classes for a price of 295AED*. All passengers are also entitled to bring hand baggage on board - in Economy you can bring one item up to 8kg, while in Business this is increased to two items up to 8kg each. All travelers are also permitted an additional personal item such as a handbag or laptop on board free of charge.


Luxair flights offer a regular Economy Class alongside a luxurious Business cabin for passengers who like to fly in style. During the online check-in process travelers are able to select a preferred seat free of charge to sit next to friends and family or grab an aisle seat.
