Mahan Air is a private airline operating from Tehran, Iran, which provides both domestic and international flights across Asia, Europe and the Middle East. The airline was established in 1992 and is named after the richly historic city of Mahan in the country. The main operating hubs of the airline are both in Tehran - Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport and Mehrabad International Airport. Mahan Air operates flights to over 60 destinations and has a fleet of over 50 aircraft. How to Check in

Passengers booking online are able to print off your ticket or present your reference number at the airport in order to complete the check-in process. The opening and closing times of check-in counters vary according to your destination, so passengers are advised to contact the airline in order to get up-to-date information about your flight. For international flights, travelers are advised to arrive at the check-in counter 3 hours before your flight and it closes 1 hour before departure. Those on domestic flights are recommended to get to the check-in desk 90 minutes before departure and the counter closes 30 minutes before flights. A select number of airports including Mehrabad International Airport also enable passengers to check-in online from 24 hours up to 90 minutes before flight departure times to skip the queues.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Passengers flying with Mahan Air are allowed to bring checked baggage, although specific allowances will depend on your flight route and cabin class. Passengers in Economy Class are entitled to check-in 20kg of baggage for domestic flights and 30kg for international flights. Those in Business Class are permitted 30kg on domestic routes and 40kg on international flights. All travelers should be advised that no single item of baggage can exceed 32kg due to international regulations. Any overweight baggage will incur additional fees so it is worth packing smartly to avoid this.

Seating

Mahan Air provide standard Economy Class seats in addition to superior quality Business Class seating. Those flying in Economy Class are granted ample legroom with a seat pitch of 31 inches, while those in Business Class can enjoy even more. Mahan Air flights provide all passengers with a catering service as well as drinks and snacks. In addition to this, passengers in Business Class can look forward to watching movies on a personal media player and also pick up some last minute goods with on board duty free goods.
