Montenegro Airlines is the flag carrier of Montenegro with its primary operating hub situated at Podgorica Airport in the capital of the country. Although the airline was first established in 1994, it did not make its first flight until 1997 and now has established a fleet of 5 aircraft. As well as its main hub at Podgorica Airport, Montenegro Airlines has a secondary base located at Tivat Airport and currently flies to 15 destinations across Europe. In addition to its codeshare agreements with many leading airlines including Etihad Airways, Montenegro Airlines also has its own frequent flyer program, Vision Team.

How to Check in

Passengers catching flights with Montenegro Airlines are able to check-in to flights the old fashioned way at the airport. While the airline does not yet support checking in online, those who are flying from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport will be able to check-in over the web. For those who will be checking in at the airport, the airline advises travelers to get to the airport at least 2 hours before scheduled flight times and counters close 30 minutes before flights.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Whether or not you are entitled to bring checked baggage free of charge will depend on the fare you have purchased which will clearly state your allowances. On most flights those flying in Economy are allowed to bring one bag up to 23kg, while in Business Class this is increased to two bags up to 32kg each. However, baggage allowances vary so be sure to check directly with the airline if you are unsure about your allowance. Alongside checked baggage, travelers are permitted to bring one item of hand baggage on board flights no heavier than 10kg or larger than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. Excess baggage rates differ according to your destination but can vary anywhere from 120AED to 400AED* per piece of baggage.


Passengers flying with Montenegro Airlines have the option to sit in regular Economy Class or upgrade to the luxury of Business Class if you like to travel in style. The Montenegro Airlines fleet is comprised of both Embraer 195 and Fokker 100 aircraft and both planes offer travelers ample legroom. Those flying in Business Class can look forward to spacious legroom and a personalized service.
