Brisbane Airport

Brisbane Airport

Brisbane Airport is Australia’s third busiest airport handling over 22 million passengers each year. The airport offers flights to over 40 domestic destinations as well as numerous international destinations including Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Brisbane Airport is also a hub for many leading airlines in the region including Virgin Australia and Qantas.

Terminals at Brisbane Airport

Brisbane Airport is made up of two passenger terminals, one dedicated to domestic routes and another for international flights. The International Terminal recently benefited from extensive development work completed in 2015, while the Domestic Terminal is scheduled to undergo renovation work to boost its facilities and amenities in the near future. There is also the Skygate area, previously known as the Airport Village, which offers many excellent amenities like shops and restaurants.

The two terminals are situated 4km apart, so you will need help making the trip between the two if you have to transfer between flights. The airport operates a free shuttle bus service running between the two terminals and Skygate in a journey that only takes 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can also opt to use the Airtrain rail service or hop in a taxi from either terminal.

Amenities at Brisbane Airport

There is a wide selection of amenities and facilities available to passengers at Brisbane Airport in both terminals and at the Skygate development. Hungry travelers can look forward to an extensive variety of restaurants and eateries whether it’s a small snack or a sizable meal you’re after. There are also a number of cafes and bars at the airport offering the perfect place to enjoy a drink while you wait for your flight.

Many shops can be found throughout the airport to help you pass the time if you like browsing through the latest fashion brands and electronic goods. Duty free shopping is also available in the International Terminal if you want to pick up some cheap products before flying out. As well as this, all of the basic shops you would expect such as bookstores and pharmacies are at the airport to get your travel essentials from.

Passengers can stay connected at all times while at the airport with free Wi-Fi available, or you can find internet kiosks in the International Terminal to check up on your emails. There are multiple airport lounges located in both terminals if you prefer somewhere quiet and comfortable to wait, although only the Plaza Premium Lounge offers access to all passengers for a fee on the door.
