Bali Airport

Bali Airport, also known as Ngurah Rai International Airport or Denpasar International Airport, is Bali’s primary airport located 13 km south of Denpasar, the capital of Bali. The airport is the second busiest airport in Indonesia and has regularly received awards commending its excellent facilities and design. The airport has connections across the world with services as far as Europe, although currently there are no direct flights available from the UAE.

Terminals at Bali Airport

Bali Airport is comprised of two separate passenger terminals: a Domestic Terminal and an International Terminal. The Domestic Terminal was inaugurated in 2014 and is roughly four times larger than the previous terminal, with the capacity to handle up to 9.4 million passengers each year. Both of the terminals are connected and within walking distance of each other for passengers making transfers between terminals.

Facilities at Bali Airport

Travelers at Bali Airport are able to enjoy an array of useful amenities and facilities at the airport in both terminals. Numerous dining and drinking options are available for passengers looking to grab a bite before flights. There are also a number of airport lounges available to anyone with a lounge pass, providing refreshments, showers and comfortable seating. Most of the airport lounges are located in the International Terminal.

Shopping is also available in the Departure areas of the airport for those looking to pick up gifts or duty-free products. As well as the usual duty-free goods, some designer brands also have stores in the airport. A pharmacy at the airport also provides medical essentials and travel essentials.

The two passenger terminals at Bali Airport are well equipped for disabled passengers, while wheelchairs are available on request. If you require any special arrangements, you are advised to get in touch with your airline before arriving at the airport. Additional amenities and facilities at Bali Airport include free Wi-Fi, extensive business and conference facilities and luggage storage in the International Terminal.

Bali Airport Travel Information

There are multiple modes of transportation to get to and from Bali Airport. Shared shuttle buses are an economical way to reach your destination and can be found near the car park area. Taxis are readily available as a direct way to get around the Bali area. Taxis can be found just outside the Arrivals area of the airport but require a pre-paid voucher which can be arranged at the official taxi desk near the exit. Alternatively, a public bus service runs from the airport into the center of Denpasar, taking around 50 minutes.

Private vehicle owners are able to utilize the extensive car parking facilities at the airport which provides short and long-term parking with a capacity of 2,000 vehicles. A number of international car rental companies also operate at the airport for those wanting their own vehicle during their stay in Bali.
