Inverness Airport

Inverness Airport

Inverness Airport is located just over 10 km from the center of Inverness and handles around 850,000 passengers each year. The airport mostly offers regional flights around the UK and Ireland as well as a few other services to and from European destinations.

Terminals at Inverness Airport

There is a single passenger terminal at Inverness Airport which handles all flights, so if you need to transfer between flights at the airport you don’t have to travel far. The terminal building itself is relatively old and there are no plans to construct a new terminal or perform renovation work on the existing terminal.

Facilities at Inverness Airport

Inverness Airport offers all of the facilities and amenities travelers would need for a pleasant stay, although the airport is rather small so options are fairly limited. However, there are restaurants available both airside and landside so you can enjoy a meal before catching your flight. In addition to this, there is a small selection of shops where you can find gifts and travel basics. Additional amenities available to travelers at the airport include complimentary Wi-Fi, internet stations, medical services and a parenting room for those traveling with infants.

Disabled travelers will find the airport is excellent at catering to your needs with many disabled facilities like wheelchair access, ramps and disabled toilets. You can also benefit from special assistance if necessary during your time at the airport, although you will need to contact your airline at least 48 hours before your journey. There is an Aspire Lounge available at the airport for any travelers looking for somewhere more exclusive to wait.

Inverness Airport Travel Information

When you have arrived at the airport you have the option to catch public transport if you don’t want to pay for a taxi. There are public buses available every 30 minutes from the airport into the city center and the surrounding area. Alternatively, taxis can be found just outside of the terminal and do not need to be booked beforehand. All taxis will come with meters so you get a fair price for your journey. There are also a couple of car rental companies at Inverness Airport for those looking to drive themselves around.

Any passengers with their own vehicle will find both short and long-term parking available at the airport. Short-term parking is free of charge for up to 20 minutes and is directly opposite the passenger terminal, while long-term parking can also be found close by.
