Calgary International Airport is the main airport serving Calgary and is located less than 20 km from the city center. Comprised of two passenger terminals, the airport is the fourth busiest in Canada and serves around 16 million travelers each year, with a wide range of flights available as far as Europe.

At Calgary International Airport there are two passenger terminals, one for international flights and the other for domestic flights. Getting between terminals is easy if you need to transfer as they are connected with walkways and there is also a shuttle service available.

There are a wide choice of dining and drinking options in the airport serving up everything from fast food to restaurant fare, while you can also find duty-free shopping in the international terminal and many more retail and designer shops across the airport.

There are plenty of children’s play areas located around the airport as well as an entertainment arcade area, while those traveling with infants will find extensive childcare facilities across the airport. Additional amenities available at the airport include a pharmacy and medical services, an on-site spa and barber services, numerous airport lounges and even massage chairs. In addition to this, you can connect to the airport’s free Wi-Fi service to surf the web. Travelers looking for special assistance will find the airport is very accommodating, although you will need to get in touch with your airline at least 48 hours before your journey.

Calgary Airport Travel Information

Calgary International Airport has excellent transportation links, so there are a variety of options open to travelers upon arrival. There are regular airport shuttle buses traveling into the city every 30 minutes, while there are also a few public bus routes available. You can also find taxis available at the airport 24 hours a day, with all taxis fitted with meters to ensure a fair price. Along with this, there are a number of car rental agencies available in the Rental Car Center which is located just across the road from the main terminal.

UAE nationals catching flights to Canada will need a visa in order to enter the country, so make sure you get a visa application complete in advance of your journey. You can expect warm and enjoyable temperatures over the summer in Calgary with average highs of around 23 degrees from July to August, although it is usually very cold and experiences thick snowfall and subzero temperatures over the winter.
