Why You Should Visit Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad is India’s sixth largest city and enjoys the distinct honor of being the country’s first UNESCO World Heritage City which reflects its wealth of important cultural and historical attractions. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is Ahmedabad’s main airport situated less than 10 km from the city. The airport is comprised of two passenger terminals and offers all of the essential amenities and services you would need for a pleasant stay. Once you have arrived at the airport, the most convenient way to get into the city is by taxi and the journey is only a brief one, although you can take a brief walk from the airport to catch a public bus if you are on a budget. Many nationals including EU and UAE citizens are able to travel to India by applying online for an e-Visa before making the journey. In Ahmedabad the weather can get very hot between April and June with highs of around 40 degrees, although this is not quite as hot as it gets in the UAE over the summer. Be advised that there is a rainy season in July and August, so it may be best to visit outside of this period if you plan on exploring outdoors a lot.
