When to Visit Barcelona
The Barcelona weather remains pleasant for most of the year, experiencing hot summers and mild winters. Sun-lovers will want to visit sometime between May and September when temperatures are ideal for relaxing on the beach. Be advised that July and August are the two busiest months of the year in Barcelona, so if you want to visit when things are a bit quieter you may want to avoid these months. Given the wealth of things to do in Barcelona all year round, a visit at any time of year is going to be a rewarding one. While cheap flights to Barcelona will be much easier to find during the off-season over winter, if you book early enough you can find excellent rates all year round.

Flights to Barcelona
The primary airport serving the city of Barcelona is Barcelona-El Prat International Airport located 12km outside the city. The airport is Europe’s seventh busiest and offers flights all over the globe including flights to and from the UAE. The only direct flight from UAE is via Emirates who operate flights from Dubai International Airport. The airport’s close proximity to the city center makes it quick and easy to get into the city, although renting a car in Barcelona is also an option.

Spain is part of the Schengen Area, allowing EU and Schengen nationals to enter the country without a visa. Additionally, over 60 countries are permitted visa-free access to the country including nationals from the UAE. The currency used in Spain is the Euro, currently utilized by 19 out of the 28 member states of the EU. Be advised that Spain is 2 hours behind Dubai, so be sure to wind back your clocks.
