Lubumbashi International Airport is located around 15 km from the center of Lubumbashi and primarily handles regional flights. If you are looking to travel from the UAE to Lubumbashi directly, it won’t be possible as no airlines offer nonstop flights from anywhere in the UAE. However, there is the option to travel with only a single transfer from the UAE to Lubumbashi which makes the journey a lot more bearable.

Lubumbashi International Airport is a relatively small airport and offers very little by way of amenities and services, so bring everything you need to the airport before your journey. Be advised that there is also a prolonged rainy season which begins in November and carries on through until March. In Lubumbashi you will need to put your clocks back by two hours to get on local time, while prices in the city for essentials like dining out, travel and accommodation are generally much cheaper compared to the UAE.
