Goa International Airport is located 2.5 miles (4 km) from Vasco da Gama in the northwest and 3 miles (5km) from Dabolim to the east. It takes approximately ten minutes by car or taxi. The nearest railway station is in Vasco da Gama, around 3 miles from Goa International Airport, which can be reached by local bus or taxi. Local buses run from the airport to Chicalim and Vasco da Gama. Car rental in Goa is also an option.

Goa is a wonderful all year round destination blessed with year round sunshine, however the peak tourist season is between October and January with the popular Sunburn Festival held in December. Goa is said to be at its most beautiful during the monsoons from June to September which is also when there are cheaper flights. February is a good time to visit for the annual Heritage Festival.
