It is also possible to travel to Al Najaf International Airport from Dubai or Sharjah. If you are coming from Dubai you can make the journey with flydubai and Iraqi Airways from Dubai International Airport, while those coming from Sharjah can fly with Air Arabia. Currently flights to Erbil International Airport have been suspended, but before the suspension it was possible to fly from Dubai International Airport with flydubai and Iraqi Airways or out of Sharjah with Air Arabia.

Iraq Travel Information

UAE nationals traveling to Iraq will have to apply for a visa first before flying, although if you are arriving at Al Najaf International Airport you can obtain a visa upon arrival. The country is generally hot throughout with some regions experiencing temperatures on a similar level to the UAE, although some inland cities like Erbil can get surprisingly chilly over the winter. The Iraqi dinar is the currency you will need while you are in Iraq, while you can expect prices to be a lot lower to those in the UAE.
