Salem Airport is situated around 20 km from Salem and is the sixth busiest airport in the state of Tamil Nadu. The airport is housed within a single passenger terminal which has the capacity for up to 100 passengers. There is currently just a single service available at the airport to and from Chennai with TruJet, while the airport is also a popular training center. The airport offers a small array of facilities and amenities for travelers including a couple of eateries and convenience stores. Although it will not be possible to travel nonstop from the UAE to Salem, you can quite easily catch a connecting flight at Chennai.
