Reasons To Visit Tainan
Tainan has the distinction of being Taiwan’s oldest city and its former capital and is known for its wealth of historic landmarks and beautiful works of architecture. In recent decades, however, the city has become much more modernized so you will also find all of the contemporary things you would expect such as high-end shopping malls and modern bars. Arriving In Tainan
Tainan Airport is situated around 7 km from the city center of Tainan and handles a small range of domestic and regional flights. Travelers looking to catch flights from the UAE to Tainan won’t be able to make the trip nonstop as no carriers provide direct flights from anywhere in the UAE. However, given the airport’s regional connections it is possible to travel from the UAE to Tainan with only a single transfer which makes the journey a lot more convenient.
At Tainan Airport you won’t find much available when it comes to shops and restaurants, so it is best off to bring everything you would need with you. When your flight has touched down at the airport, you can find taxis available to take you into the city or you can prearrange a transfer before you fly. Alternatively, there are plenty of car rental options in Tainan.

As a UAE national traveling to Taiwan, you can go online before your journey and get an e-visa which permits stays of up to 30 days. In Tainan you can generally expect warm weather all year round, with the hottest period falling between May to September which sees average highs of around 32 degrees. However, this also coincides with a rainy season which is at its peak from June until August. Don’t forget to put your clocks forward by four hours to get on local time if you’re coming from the UAE, while the currency you will need in Taiwan is the New Taiwan dollar.
