Where to stay in Salzburg
The fourth largest city in Austria, Salzburg is the birthplace of legendary composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and is home to a wide selection of hotels for visitors looking to discover more about this picturesque location.
The narrow lanes and historic squares have a place on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list, while for several weeks a year the city becomes the hub of the cultural world with the staging of the annual Salzburg Festival – a world-class musical festival showcasing opera, theater and live concerts.
No matter the time of year, Salzburg has something for everyone – as well as the summer festival, tourists are also enchanted by winter in this Austrian wonderland with the Old Town and its bars, gourmet restaurants, shopping outlets and a mix of old and new architecture proving popular with visitors from around the world.
As Salzburg isn’t a large city, most attractions are easily reached by foot (or by bike in benign conditions), and there is an efficient public transportation system. However, if you're planning to explore more of the country, you could also consider car rental in Salzburg.

Another popular choice in the heart of the city, the Hotel Am Mirabellplatz is close to the Mirabell Castle and the Congress Center. Salzburg is just two hours away by train from Munich. It's the birthplace of Mozart and where Sound of Music originate from, but the best about Salzburg is her picturesque view of the Alps from the top which is less than 30 minutes climb.
Amazing city. Great for wandering by foot or take a bus and see the salt mines. Of course you can't miss the gardens and Sound of Music tour. Yeah. We stayed at NH hotels but lots of great options. Apple streusel for the sweet tooth can't be beat!!
Salzburg is a city you can't help yourself to fall in love with. History meets style. So many things to do! I have the honor to live here for more than 27 years now already and I still can't get enough of this beautiful place
