On the tiny Slovenian coastline, Koper is an ancient settlement that has been wonderfully preserved. If you've been lucky enough to visit the Croatian city of Dubrovnik, you'll immediately notice how similar Koper looks. Red brick roofs, winding alley ways and medieval architecture fill every corner of this town. Once you explore Kope, hop on a boat and head to sea from some fishing and fun in the sun.
Koper is a highlight of Slovenia's stunning coastline, and feels less touristy than its neighboring and also very pretty Piran. With Venetian architecture along the Adriatic sea, it has a very Italian feel (not surprising as it's bilingual in Slovenian and Italian, and is only 5 kilometers from the Italian border).
