Dubai's main international airport is Dubai International Airport, the busiest in the world with 80 million passengers flying through every year. Only Emirates operates a direct flight from Birmingham to Dubai, arriving at Dubai International Airport and not Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai's second airport.

Airport Information - Arriving
Dubai International Airport is a large and modern airport offering a wealth of amenities and facilities to keep travelers happy. At the airport you will find an extensive range of shops which include the latest designer goods and luxury products as well as duty free stores. Many different places to eat and drink can also be enjoyed at the airport with everything from gourmet restaurants to quick snack bars available. There are three passenger terminals at the airport which are all easy to travel between if you need to transfer between flights. Once you have arrived at the airport you can hop on the Dubai Metro from Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 to get into Dubai, although taxis are also found outside each terminal if you prefer this.
Airport Information - Departing
Birmingham Airport is comprised of two passenger terminals which are housed within the same building so you can quickly transfer between terminals if necessary. The airport is set over two levels and offers a wide selection of amenities to keep you occupied while you wait for your flight. Many different shops such as designer stores, duty free shops and other general stores can be found at the airport, while there is also an extensive selection of dining and drinking options available. The airport is connected to central Birmingham by air-rail or bus so you have a few options available to travel to the airport from the city.
What to Expect in Dubai
In Dubai the weather is a lot hotter compared to Birmingham and it stays that way throughout the year, although things do cool down a bit between November and February if you want to avoid the brunt of the heat.
