Angeles is served by Clark International Airport, previously known as Diosdado Macapagal International Airport, which is also conveniently located only around 80km from the center of Manila. This airport was opened in 1996 and is now one of the prime international entry points into the Philippines.
Currently Emirates are the only airline providing direct flights from Dubai, although other airlines such as Qatar Airways can provide cheap flights from Dubai to Angeles with a stopover. Clark International Airport mostly provides flights to regional Asian destinations such as Seoul and Hong Kong and is a much smaller airport compared to the nearby Manila Ninoy Aquino Airport.
Currently Clark International Airport has one operational passenger terminal, although a much larger terminal complex is currently under construction which will add three further terminals to vastly increase the passenger capacity of the airport and develop it into one of the largest in the region.
Terminal 1 currently handles all flights at the airport and recently benefited from expansion work to boost its passenger capacity significantly. This terminal will be the arrival and departure point for those flying to and from Dubai until the expansion work is finished.
Terminal 1 will eventually be dedicated primarily to domestic flights when Terminal 2 is completed. The much larger Terminal 3 is expected to be able to handle up to 80 million passengers a year, while a dedicated budget terminal is project to serve a further 15 million passengers at full capacity.
Dubai International Airport is the world’s busiest international passenger airport and one of the globes finest airports. With a diverse selection of shops, restaurants and other amenities, the airport is an excellent place to wait for your flight. Passengers flying to Angeles with Emirates will be departing from Terminal 3. This terminal is accessible from Terminal 1 by a complementary shuttle service or on the Dubai Metro from Terminals 1 and 2.
