Muy contenta
Íbamos quedarnos 2 noches pero finalmente nos gustó y nos quedamos una más, nos buscaron la cama sin ningún problema dándonos siempre las mejores soluciones. Todo el equipo muy amable y correcto(la señora de la limpieza también súper maja y sonriente)! Nivel limpieza muy bien, todo muy limpio. Siempre tenemos que asumir que vamos a un hostal por donde pasa muchísima gente y que no hay una guardia de limpieza 24h(y que pagamos una miseria) yo misma cogía la fregona y limpiaba, es un albergue no un 5 estrellas! Viaje con un niño de 3 años y todo me lo facilitaron, de verdad. Muy agradecida y muy bien acogida!! Gracias.

The little things added up... not in a good way
I've stayed in tons of hostels around the world, and it takes a lot for me to feel like I've had a bad experience. It takes even more for me to feel like I need to write a review... but here we are.
I arrived around 11:30pm (23:30) and when I was let in, I was told that I should have checked in before 11. I don't remember seeing that anywhere on the website, or in my emails, so either it's not listed or I missed it. Luckily there were people at reception to check me in, after a while, because...
As I was waiting to be attended to, the police showed up. They had to remove two guests (I believe they were guests) from the premises. It was quite a loud exchange, with the guests shouting "maleducada" but other than that I didn't know the context of the situation. We were right outside a bedroom door, and I was thinking I sure hoped that wasn't going to be my room.
So, of course that ended up being my room. For hours there was the sound of the door slamming, people yelling and talking loudly at reception, and using (and shaking?) the vending machine.
Also, there was no water for 12+ hours plus. That wasn't the hostel's fault - there was a water main break - and they brought in jugs of water, but it was still an inconvenience.
Ok, so here's the WORST thing that happened. I asked if I could leave my larger bag after checkout while I went out in the city for my last day. They said yes, of course, and directed me to the luggage storage room. There were tons of bags already inside, so I set mine down amongst the group.
Later I returned before heading to catch my bus, opened the luggage storage door, and... all the bags were TOTALLY SOAKING WET. It was raining, and the luggage storage room is in a courtyard with a partially-covered section. No one had thought to tell us that we should leave our bags in the covered section. I had to spend an hour with a hairdryer trying to dry my bag and my belongings. I was pissed.
All in all, unfortunately I wouldn't stay here again. Too many things went wrong.

Not a cool move
Bcool guitar is a very good location, near Abando train station and Plaza Moyua (from where you can take many local buses). This is why I chose the hotel... but for my second night there, I was told it was overbooked and that they would transfer me and my fried to another hostel of the same chain, Bcool Bilbao. Not knowing the city, we agreed. Bcool Bilbao is located smack in the middle of the most dangerous area of the city (San Francisco street), which we didn't know until we were walking there at night and started noticing the squalor of the area, shifty-looking people in the corners and (luckily) an inordinate amount of police officers in riot gear.
So even though Bcool Guitar was a nice place, with friendly staff and good facilities, I can't recommend it, lest anyone else is sent on an uninformed night trip to the underbelly of Bilbao.

Bien situado y nuevo
El Hostel está bien situado, cerca de la estación de tren de Abando y la parada de autobús de Zabalburu. Se ve nuevo, las habitaciones están limpias.
Lo que yo no entiendo de estos sitios es por qué solo tienen dos baños y además están juntas las duchas y los retretes impidiendo que se utilicen a la vez.
Nosotras tuvimos opción de que nos prepararán el desayuno aunque el sándwich que nos pusieron yo no lo hubiera puesto para desayunar.
Lo que yo no entiendo de estos sitios es por qué solo tienen dos baños y además están juntas las duchas y los retretes impidiendo que se utilicen a la vez.

Recomendado para una noche
Teníamos un vuelo a primera hora de la mañana y es la opción que encontramos más barata. Esta localizado en el centro por lo que es de fácil acceso y tiene transporte público para llegar sin problema. El chico de recepción fue súper simpático y muy atento. Estuvimos en una habitación compartida, habitación limpia y todo el hostel era nuevo. Lo recomiendo si quieres una opción barata o si es para una sola noche.
