The town of Arua is located in the north of Uganda and is an excellent base for travelers looking to experience many of the stunning wonders that Uganda has to offer. Arriving In Arua
Arua Airport is located just 3 km from the center of Arua and handles just a small selection of domestic and regional flights. Travelers looking to catch flights from the UAE to Arua will need to make a stopover somewhere as no carriers offer direct flights from anywhere in the UAE. Thankfully the airport has regular connections from Entebbe which handles direct flights from the UAE, so you can conveniently make the journey with only a single transfer.
At Arua Airport you won’t find much available in terms of shops and restaurants, so it is highly advisable to bring everything you need to the airport. However, there are plans underway to construct a brand-new airport terminal at the airport which will boost its capacity and facilities. Once you have arrived at the airport, the most convenient way to travel into the city is to hop in a taxi or to prearrange a private transfer before catching your flight.

In Arua you can expect temperatures to be warm all year round, with the hottest time of year falling between November to April which sees average highs of around 30 degrees. Be advised that it does rain quite frequently in the region from April all the way until November, with a much drier spell from December to early April. To get on local time in Uganda you will need to put your clocks back by just one hour if you are coming from the UAE, while the currency you will need in Uganda is the Ugandan shilling.
