Where to stay in Melbourne
Visitors to Melbourne are never short of places to stay in one of the most vibrant cities in Australia. The capital of the state of Victoria is home to world-class sporting events such as the Australian Open tennis tournament and the F1 Australian Grand Prix and regularly attracts over half a million visitors a year.
There are many areas to stay from the city center and central business district to the more chilled environs of the beach front at St Kilda but no matter where you choose Melbourne's public transport will get you smoothly around the city.
The Myki smartcard allows flexible travel on trains, trams and buses with Melbourne also offering a free City Circle Tram service around the center of the city and past some of its major attractions. Car rental in Melbourne is also a popular choice thanks to the city's proximity to the Great Ocean Road.
St Kilda Hotels
Just 6 km from the city center, St Kilda is Melbourne’s seaside playground and is renowned for its expansive view of Port Phillip, a safe sandy beach, palm-lined boardwalk, parks and gardens, and great restaurants, bars and cafés.
The four-star luxurious Novotel enjoys a prime beachside position on the Esplanade and features modern fittings, breathtaking views and a terrace dining area and bar.
A mid-price St Kilda property close to the beach and the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Crest on Park offers complimentary Wi-Fi, complimentary continental breakfast and free parking.

A budget price hostel accommodation close to St Kilda Beach, the Oslo Hotel is just minutes from the Palais Theater and the area’s shopping district.

I love Melbourne. Great food, and culture with the Mornington Peninsula and the Great Ocean Road just outside town.
Another great city to visit. Great restaurants with a beautiful art museum. The people are all very friendly.
Known for its street art and alleyways, but also a stove’s throw a way from good hikes and surfing, Melbourne is not to be missed.
My favorite city in all of Australia, there truly is something here for everyone. Whether you are here for a day or a week, your time will be well worth it.
