Very disappointed
We booked 10 days at this riad. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to its promises. The riad was joined by two very noisy, disrespectful, and unpleasant families. Openly lacking respect for the two people taking care of us, doors constantly slamming, the children even opened our bedroom door. The owners came to ask them to be respectful, but nothing changed. This event disrupted part of our stay. I am aware that it is an establishment where there are many people; nevertheless, we cannot tolerate this kind of constant aggression. Many of us suffered this week. It would have been simpler to refund these people and ask them to leave given the nuisances. But financial profitability was clearly the priority. The owner explained to us that there were many scams and to be very careful; in fact, I chose to trust her and buy the argan oil from them. I paid €50 for the bottle. A few days later, I found the same bottle in a shop, sold for €12. I asked to be refunded but I am very disappointed by this attitude which confirms that there is no limit to the love of money.
We did not have a good vacation in this riad.
However, thanks to Abdou and Amina, their kindness, we manage to put things into perspective.
They are the positive side of the riad; without them, the riad will soon empty out.
You are hoteliers and profitability is necessary for your profession, I am aware of that, but you must remain honest despite everything. These 10 days represented our savings from a year of work like everyone else; for my part, you were not fair. And the money you are trying to recover in the wrong way will be missed one day if you do not question your practices.

Wonderful Experience
We had a very happy experience with our 4 day stay at the Riad Mariana. Mohammed and Amina went out of their way to ensure that my wife and I had an enjoyable stay. The Riad is very clean and comfortable. It is also just a very short walk to the souks for shopping and the Jemma el Fnaa Square for dinner and entertainment. We would stay here again, and highly recommend it to fellow travelers!

Please read this before booking Riad Mariana
Avoid this property.
We arrived at Riad Mariana on 3 April 2026 with a confirmed booking for a week, only to be told there were no rooms available. We were only given an evening's prior notice (whilst we were travelling) and a claim that it was a booking error.
When we arrived at Riad Mariana, we were then taken to an alternative property (Riad Argana), which was completely unacceptable. It was in poor condition, appeared unmaintained, had no visible staff or basic services, and we were the only guests staying there. The door lock to our room did not work properly, which also raised serious safety concerns.
After two nights at the alternative accommodation, we were moved back to Riad Mariana.
Following our return, we spoke with the hotel owner (or his wife) by phone. They acknowledged the situation and said they would make amends, including coming to see us in person. We waited the entire morning for them to arrive, but they never did.
This was not a minor inconvenience - it was a complete failure to provide the accommodation we had booked and paid for. I would strongly recommend booking elsewhere.

Outrageous behaviour towards disabled guests
My wife is disabled. That's why we booked a room on the ground floor, it was confirmed in writing. On arrival it was forgiven, the extremely unfriendly staff at the reception wanted us to move into a room on the first floor instead. My wife can't climb stairs, especially since they don't have railings here. The employee didn't care if my wife had fallen. Due to the kindness of two young women who moved to the first floor, we were able to move into a room on the ground floor as assured. But the employee refused to let the already used bed be made new and also expected us to use the already used towels. Asked if he would do so himself, he disgustedly denied it. Such outrageous behaviour would immediately lead to dismissal in any serious hotel. Listing all other criticisms would take too long. Outrageous behaviour towards a woman with reduced mobility is enough to rate this accommodation as unacceptable.
