Traveling to Leh
Leh Airport, known in full as Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, is the main airport serving Leh handling a small range of domestic flights across India. Travelers who are looking to fly from the UAE to Leh will need to make a stopover somewhere as there are no airlines providing direct flights. However, the airport has decent connections across India which makes it easy for UAE-based travelers to make the journey with only a single transfer.
Leh Airport is a small single terminal airport offering very little in terms of facilities and services, although you will find a few basics you would need. There is a café and snack bar available where you can enjoy a quick bite to eat, although other than this there is very little else available. Once you have arrived at the airport, you can find taxis and auto rickshaws available just outside the terminal to conveniently travel to your destination.

Leh Travel Information
UAE nationals flying to India can go online prior to the journey and apply for an e-visa which is valid for up to 60 days. In Leh the weather is a lot cooler compared to most other Indian cities due to its high elevation, with average highs of just 25 degrees from July until August. Be advised that it gets very cold over the winter period with temperatures regularly dropping below freezing, so you will need warm clothing with you. You will need to put your clocks forward by one hour and 30 minutes to get on local time, while the price of many things in the city like transportation, accommodation and dining out will tend to be a lot cheaper compared to the UAE.
