Arriving In Kabul

Hamid Karzai International Airport is located only 5 km from central Kabul and consists of two passenger terminals. When you have landed at the airport you can find taxis readily available just outside the airport to make the short trip into Kabul. The airport itself offers a small range of amenities so you can find all the basics such as a couple of shops and places to eat.

If you are looking to make the journey from the UAE to Kabul it is possible to fly out of Dubai with multiple carriers. Currently all flights to Kabul from the UAE depart from Dubai International Airport – the carriers serving this route are Emirates, flydubai, Kam Air and Safi Airways. If you are based elsewhere in the UAE you can easily make the short trip to Dubai by road or air and then fly onwards to Kabul.

Kabul Travel Information

All nationals looking to travel to Afghanistan will have to arrange a visa, so make sure you get organized and apply for a visa well in advance of your flight to avoid disappointment. In Kabul the weather is hot over the summer but not as hot as it is in the UAE with average highs of around 32 degrees. However, be advised that it can get extremely cold over the winter in Kabul with temperatures often dropping below freezing, so you will need to pack plenty of warm clothing.
