Where to stay in Cancun
The city of Cancun is situated in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula on the Caribbean and is renowned for its incredible beaches, busy resorts and bustling nightlife with much of the action centered around the beach strip of Zona Hotelera and the downtown area of El Centro.
Thanks to its stunning beaches and hedonistic nightlife, Cancun remains a popular choice with US students looking to holiday during their spring break. If you prefer a quieter and less expensive time to visit the city, consider going in early December or in April to avoid the crowds yet still take advantage of the weather.
Cancun and the surrounding area are well served by public transport and taxis. If a day trip further afield is part of the itinerary, it may be worth considering a tour on an air-conditioned bus, especially if the majority of the stay is to be spent on the beach or in the city, although car rental is also an option.

I went twice within a couple months. There is so much to do that you can experience something different each time. I like visiting for affordability especially if you’re willing to book outside of the resorts. Airbnb and take the bus everywhere for $1 and you’ll have plenty money to spare on a activity’s. The Mayan Ruins, Excaret, The Ferry to Isla, just so much. If you can snap a cheap flight you can surely spend under $500pp and have a great time.
I went with a group of friends and I absolutely loved it! Amazing beaches, great food, and excellent nightlife. I can’t wait to go back!
are I loved it... we went singles no kids but now we are planning one with the kids definitely have to love the experience. super safe city beautiful experience to swim in a cenote people are super friendly sweet and helpful.. tip.. try to use public transportation such as buses instead if cabs you will save lots of money
If I'm honest I prefer Playa del Carmen and Tulum. Cancun is a bit too 'Vegas' for me, plus it is super expensive. But if you are looking to party and don't mind splashing the cash you can have an amazing time here.
