Muscat International Airport is the primary airport serving Oman and is around 30 km from Muscat. The airport is the beneficiary of a new terminal complex which opened up in 2018 and will eventually be able to handle close to 50 million travelers each year. This passenger terminal handles all flights at the airport, while the old terminal is scheduled to undergo renovation work. If you don’t want to take a taxi to the airport there are public buses from the city center which can take you to the airport. The airport offers a good range of amenities and services so you won’t be short on things to do. There are several eateries and cafés for hungry travelers as well as duty-free shopping and a few other travel stores. The airport also provides travelers with free Wi-Fi access and is home to a few airport lounges.
