Athens International Airport is located around 30 km from central Athens and consists of two passenger terminals. When you have arrived in Athens there are a number of ways to get into the city including by public transport with metro, bus and train services available. Inside the airport itself you can find a wide array of retail shops as well as duty free shopping, while hungry travelers will be pleased with the variety of dining options available. In addition to this, you can connect to free Wi-Fi for up to 45 minutes or log in to an internet kiosk to access the web.
Travelers booking flights from the UAE to Athens can fly out of Abu Dhabi International Airport or Dubai International Airport. If you are looking to fly from Abu Dhabi you can travel with Etihad Airways, while Emirates provides flights out of Dubai International Airport.

As Greece is in the Schengen Area you won’t need to arrange a visa as a UAE national, and remember that the country is 1 hour behind the UAE so make sure you change your clocks when you land. In Athens you can expect hot weather over the summer with highs of around 33 degrees and temperatures remain relatively mild during the winter months. If you want to drive around and explore the area yourself there are plenty of car rental agencies operating at Athens airport, although there has a decent public transport network which travelers can rely on to get around.
