Greece is part of the Schengen Area and provides visa-free access to all EU citizens. However, most citizens from non-EU and non-EEA countries will be required to get a visa other than nationals from a select few countries such as the United States, Canada and Japan. The high season for tourism in Greece is between June and September when temperatures can get considerably hot, so many choose to visit in early summer between April and June or early autumn between September and November when the weather is slightly milder. Cheap tickets to Greece are easy to find, especially outside the high season when prices can be lower.
