Abha International Airport is the main airport serving Abha and is located around 20km (12 miles) from the city. The airport is relatively small and consists of a single passenger terminal so you don’t need to worry about a lengthy journey if you have to transfer between flights. The airport’s limited facilities include a cafeteria area where you can find something to eat as well as a couple of shops selling gifts and travel essentials. The Tasheel First Class Lounge is also available for those who would prefer to wait somewhere more exclusive and offers perks such as Wi-Fi and refreshments.
What to Expect in Dubai
In Dubai the weather is hotter compared to Abha with temperatures reaching scorching highs over the summer. Saudi Arabian nationals are able to enter Dubai on a visa-free basis provided that you present a valid national ID card. Whilst you are in Dubai you can conveniently navigate the city on the Dubai Metro or by bus, although if you want to explore outside of the city then finding a car rental company at the airport would be advisable.
