Airport Information - Arriving

The primary airport serving Dubai is Dubai International Airport, also the world’s busiest airport in terms of international passengers capable of handling over 80 million people per year. The airport has three passenger terminals which are linked to one another for easy transfers. Terminals 1 and 3 are on the Dubai Metro network, while a free bus shuttle runs to Terminal 2 taking only 20 minutes. The airport is known for its excellent and generous facilities and amenities, with a huge number of shops, eateries and cafes available to travelers. Getting to the airport from the wider Dubai area is possible on the Dubai Metro, although taxis are also very popular in Dubai.

Al Maktoum International Airport is Dubai’s second and newest airport having opened up in 2010. Although not at full capacity yet, the airport is becoming increasingly popular and many airlines are choosing to operate flights from there each year. The airport is scheduled to have three passenger terminals, one of which will be dedicated exclusively to Emirates flights. Currently there are many amenities open to travelers at the airport including restaurants and shops.

Chennai International Airport is India’s fourth busiest handling over 17 million travelers each year. The airport is designed with a single passenger terminal split into a domestic and international sector, with a connecting complex in the middle of the two. All of the amenities and facilities you would expect from a busy international airport can be found at Chennai International Airport, so you won’t be short on places to eat or shop during your visit. Getting from central Chennai to the airport is possible by public transport including rail and metro, although many opt for the convenience of a taxi.
