Arriving In Abuja

The primary airport serving Abuja is Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport which is situated around 20 km away from the capital of Nigeria. The airport handles a variety of regional and long-haul flights including direct flights from the UAE. If you are wishing to travel from the UAE to Abuja, you can fly directly out of Dubai. Currently the only airline providing flights on this route is Emirates, the flag carrier of Dubai, with all flights departing out of Dubai International Airport. At Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport you will only find a small range of amenities and services, so bring any must-have items with you in order to avoid disappointment. If you would rather wait for your flight somewhere more comfortable, there are a few airport lounges on site offering more luxurious surroundings. When you have landed at the airport, you can find official airport taxis available just outside of the terminal building. Be advised that taxis are not fitted with meters, so you are best off agreeing upon a fare with your driver before setting off. Alternatively, you could consider renting a car in Abuja.
