Alicante Airport, also known as Alicante-Elche Airport, is Spain’s 5th busiest airport located less than 10 km from the center of Alicante. The airport recently opened up a brand-new terminal in 2011 which offers a good selection of shops, restaurants and cafés to keep travelers occupied. Although taxis are readily available just outside the terminal building, there is a bus service available if you would rather use public transport to travel into the city. You can conveniently rent your own vehicle as soon as you have touched down at the airport, with many car rental agencies at Alicante airport operating in the arrivals hall.
