Aqaba is located along the Red Sea in the south of Jordan offering plenty of interesting historic sites alongside water-based activities thanks to its seaside location. Arriving In Aqaba
Aqaba Airport, also known as King Hussein International Airport, is located just outside of the center of Aqaba and handles a range of international flights. If you are looking to travel from the UAE to Aqaba you will be able to make the trip directly from Dubai. Currently Royal Wings provides direct flights out of Al Maktoum International Airport, while flydubai will commence flights to Aqaba from Dubai International Airport from 16 June 2018. Aqaba Airport is a small airport set within a single terminal complex, offering only the very basics when it comes to facilities and amenities. However, you can find all of the essentials as there is a café and eatery on site as well as duty-free shopping. In addition to this, the airport offers travelers free Wi-Fi so you can connect to the web to help pass the time. Upon arrival in Aqaba, the most convenient way to get to your destination is to hop in one of the metered taxis waiting just outside of the airport. Alternatively, you could consider renting a car in Aqaba.

UAE nationals are permitted visa free access to Jordan for up to three months, so there’s no need to worry about making a visa application before traveling. In Aqaba the weather over the summer can get hot to a similar degree as it is in the UAE with average highs of around 40 degrees from June until August, while you can still expect warm temperatures over the winter. You will need to put your clocks back by an hour when you arrive in Jordan, while the currency you will need in the country is the Jordanian dinar.
