Arriving In Switzerland

If you are looking to travel from the UAE to Switzerland there are three separate destinations handling direct flights – Zurich, Geneva and Basel. If you are looking to travel to Zurichfrom the UAE, it will be possible to fly out of Abu Dhabi or Dubai. If you are based in Dubai you will be able to make the journey with Emirates and Swiss International Air Lines, while those coming from Abu Dhabi can make the journey with Etihad Airways.

It is also possible to travel to Geneva direct from the UAE out of Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Currently Emirates provides flights out of Dubai International Airport, while you can travel with Etihad Airways from Abu Dhabi. In addition to this, it is also possible to fly to Basel from Dubai directly with Condor, with all flights on a seasonal charter basis out of Al Maktoum International Airport, not to be confused with Dubai International Airport.

Switzerland Travel Information

As Switzerland is a part of the Schengen Area, UAE nationals will be able to travel to the country visa free for up to 90 days. The weather across Switzerland gets very cold over the winter with plenty of snowfall, so make sure you pack warm clothing with you, although over the summer you can expect average highs of over 20 degrees in most places. Remember that in Switzerland the currency used is the Euro just like the majority of member states in the EU.
