The town of Paro is one of the most beautiful settlements in Bhutan. It's known for its many different religious and historical landmarks, while it is also renowned for its stunning natural beauty which makes it an excellent destination for lovers of the great outdoors. Perhaps the most popular attraction in the region is the famous “Tiger’s Nest” Taktsang Monastery located high up in the mountains, although there are plenty of other lesser-known gems like the Drakhapo Complex and Rinpung Dzong. Those with a curiosity for new cultures may want to spend a day exploring the National Museum of Bhutan, or visit during the spring period in February-March to experience the Paro Tshechu Festival.
