Tainan has the distinction of being Taiwan’s oldest city and its former capital and is known for its wealth of historic landmarks and beautiful works of architecture. In recent decades, however, the city has become much more modernized so you will also find all of the contemporary things you would expect such as high-end shopping malls and modern bars. Some of the most popular historical attractions in the city include the Anping Fort ruins and the famous Chihkan Towers, while there are also many interesting museums around the city like the National Museum of Taiwan Literature. Tainan Airport is situated around 7 km from the city center of Tainan and handles a small range of domestic and regional flights. Travelers looking to catch flights from the UAE to Tainan won’t be able to make the trip nonstop as no carriers provide direct flights from anywhere in the UAE. However, given the airport’s regional connections it is possible to travel from the UAE to Tainan with only a single transfer which makes the journey a lot more convenient.
