Arriving In Kunming

Kunming Changshui International Airport is situated around 25 km away from the city of Kunming and handles a broad range of domestic and international flights. If you are looking to travel from the UAE to Kunming, you will be able to make the journey directly out of Dubai. Currently the only airline operating flights on this route is China Eastern Airlines, with all flights departing from Dubai International Airport, the primary airport in the emirate.

At Kunming Changshui International Airport you will find plenty of services and facilities to help pass the time while you wait for your flight. Within this single terminal airport you can enjoy a variety of dining and drinking options, while there are also plenty of retail shops open to travelers alongside duty-free shopping. In addition to this, you will be able to connect to the airport’s free Wi-Fi network to get online without paying a thing, while there are children’s play areas on site to keep the kids occupied. Getting from the airport into the city is possible by bus, with a number of routes running to and from the airport, or you can just as easily get in a taxi outside the terminal instead.

As a UAE national traveling to China, you will need to make a visa application first before catching your flight. In Kunming the weather is pleasantly warm during the summer months with average highs of around 24 degrees between April and August, while it doesn’t get too cold during the winter but you will need a jacket in the evenings. Don’t forget that Kunming is four hours ahead of the UAE so remember to set your clocks to local time when you touch down.
