The main international airport in Niger is Diori Hamani International Airport which is located less than 10 km outside of the capital Niamey. However, the airport has plenty of connections which enables UAE-based travelers to fly to Niger with only a single transfer, making the journey a lot more convenient.
Diori Hamani International Airport is set within a single terminal and offers only a small range of amenities and services. At the airport you can find a couple of eateries available to grab a bite to eat, while there are also a few small shops located around the airport to pick up some essentials. Once you have landed at the airport, the easiest way to travel into the city is to catch a taxi just outside of the airport.

Most nationals including UAE nationals will need to apply for a visa first before making the trip to Niger. In Niger the weather gets very hot at certain times of the year on a similar level to the UAE, with average highs exceeding 40 degrees between March and May. There is a brief rainy period in the region from July until September, while throughout the rest of the year there is almost no rainfall whatsoever. In Niger the currency you will need is the West African CFA franc, while the country is three hours behind the UAE so don’t forget to set your clocks to local time.
