Where in the UAE can you fly from India?
If you are looking to travel to the UAE from India you are able to fly to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. There are a large number of airports in India which serve routes to the UAE so you shouldn’t have to travel too far to find an airport near you with flights to the UAE.

Airports in the UAE
If you are traveling to Dubai you will land at Dubai International Airport, the country’s main airport and also the world’s busiest in terms of international passenger numbers each year. The airport itself is comprised of three passenger terminals which are all linked together either by bus or on the Dubai Metro. You can hop on the Dubai Metro network from Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 in order to travel conveniently into the center of the city, although alternatives are available including taxis and car rental in Dubai.
Abu Dhabi International Airport is made up of three passenger terminals. The airport is around 30 km from Abu Dhabi and is linked to the city by bus if you don’t want to get a taxi. Alternatively, many visitors to Abu Dhabi rent a car. You can find a world-class range of amenities and facilities during your time at the airport so you can pick up everything you need.
Sharjah International Airport consists of a single terminal which offers all of the amenities travelers would need for a pleasant stay. The airport is only around 15 km from Sharjah and there are shuttle buses available to travel into the city. Dubai is only 40 km away and easily reachable while renting a car in Sharjah is a popular option.
Airports in India
Several airports in India provides flights to and from the UAE so there are plenty of choices available for you.
The busiest airport in the country is Indira Gandhi International Airport which serves the city of Delhi. The airport handles over 57 million passengers a year and is located just 12 km from the city. There are several ways to travel to the airport from central Delhi including on the Delhi Airport Metro Express which only takes 20 minutes.
Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the primary airport serving Mumbai located around 30 km from the city. The airport has two passenger terminals, with Terminal 2 the base of international flights – the two terminals are 4 km away from each other so make sure you arrive at the right terminal.
Kempegowda International Airport is the third busiest airport in India serving the city of Bengaluru, also known as Bangalore. The airport is around 40 km from the city and serves over 20 million people every year. If you don’t want to pay for a taxi to get to the airport you can hop on the airport bus from the city to make the journey.
Chennai International Airport is housed within a single passenger complex and offers plenty of amenities for travelers. The airport serves over 18 million passengers annually and is situated around 20 km outside of Chennai. You can rely on public transport to get to the airport including by rail and metro so you don’t have to take a taxi.
Airlines flying from India to the UAE
There are currently 9 airlines which provide direct flights from India to the UAE in addition to many more offering indirect flights with a stopover. As well as Emirates and Etihad Airways, you can catch flights from India to the UAE with Air Arabia, Air India, Air India Express, flydubai, IndiGo, Jet Airways and SpiceJet.

Etihad Airways is one of the few 5-star airlines in the world operating out of Abu Dhabi International Airport. The airline offers flights from many destinations in India including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai, making them the premier option if you are traveling to Abu Dhabi. Air Arabia has its operating hub at Sharjah International Airport and the carrier serves over 100 destinations. You can travel from many of India’s airports to Sharjah with Air Arabia including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi. Flydubai is a low-cost carrier based in Dubai offering flights across the globe to over 90 destinations. The airline is popular with visitors from India looking for cheap flights from India to the UAE and offers flights from all of the major airports. Air India is the flag carrier of India with its main hub at Indira Gandhi International Airport, while Air India Express is a subsidiary of Air India specializing in low-cost flights around Asia and the Middle East.
IndiGo is another low-cost carrier in India and the largest in the country with close to 40% of the market share. Jet Airways is the second largest airline in India with its main hub at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, while SpiceJet is the country’s third largest airline also specializing in low-cost flights with its main hub at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

UAE travel information
If you are an Indian national you will need to obtain a visa before traveling to the UAE, although many other nationals are able to enter on a visa-free basis or acquire one upon arrival. Public transport in the UAE is a good way to get around with cities served by buses, while in Dubai you can use the Dubai Metro to get around.
Remember that the weather in the UAE gets extremely hot over the summer with highs of over 40C, while you can expect temperatures to stay pleasantly warm during the winter months. Rainfall is also rare in the country so you don’t need to worry about getting wet.
