Varna is Bulgaria’s third largest city and is situated on the Black Sea coast. Varna Airport is located roughly 10 km away from central Varna and handles a wide selection of flights, most of which are from European destinations on a seasonal basis. If you are looking to travel from the UAE to Varna it will not be possible to make the journey directly, but you can fly from the UAE to Varna with only one stopover all year round, with more routes opening up during the high season.

At Varna Airport you will find a broad selection of facilities and services to meet the needs of travelers. As well as plenty of places to dine and drink you can do a bit of duty-free shopping at the airport, while there is also free Wi-Fi available for travelers. When you have touched down at the airport there are buses available which can take you into the city center, although taxis are readily available just outside the terminal building. Alternatively, you could consider a rental car in Varna if you want to explore the beautiful country at your leisure.

Although Bulgaria isn’t yet a part of the Schengen Area, UAE nationals traveling to the country will still be able to enter visa free for up to 90 days. In Varna you can expect plenty of sunshine and warm weather over the summer with average highs of around 22 degrees, although temperatures soon plummet below freezing with the onset of winter. Don’t forget that the euro is not the currency you will need in Bulgaria, so be sure to change your money to the Bulgarian lev.
