Arriving In Vilnius

Vilnius Airport is situated just 6 km outside of the capital of Lithuania and ranks as the busiest airport in the country. The airport is housed within a single terminal building which opened in 2007 and offers plenty of modern amenities and facilities for travelers to enjoy. When you have touched down at the airport you can find public buses available to travel into the city, although you may prefer to hop in a taxi instead. Inside the airport there are a decent range of dining and drinking options in addition to duty-free shopping, while the airport also provides travelers with free Wi-Fi for up to six hours at a time.

Travelers looking to catch flights from the UAE to Vilnius will be able to travel out of Dubai. Currently the only carrier providing flights from the UAE to Vilnius is Small Planet Airlines, with all flights departing from Al Maktoum International Airport on a seasonal charter basis.

UAE nationals looking to travel to Lithuania do not need to worry about applying for a visa as the country is part of the Schengen Area. Be advised that the weather gets extremely cold over the winter period from November to March, although over the summer you can expect average highs of around 23 degrees. Getting around Vilnius without a car is possible using the city’s public transport network, although there are plenty of car rental companies at Vilnius Airport available once you land.
