Airport Information - Arriving

Dubai International Airport is comprised of three passenger terminals which are all easy to transfer between either by metro or bus if you need to switch terminals. Once you have arrived at the airport you can easily journey into the center of Dubai on the Dubai Metro which is linked to Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, although there are alternatives available including taxis and car rental agencies. Flydubai operates out of Terminal 2 and the other terminals are reachable on public transport by shuttle bus. Numerous rental car companies are also situated at the airport. While at the airport there are a wealth of things to do to pass the time including many high-end shops to browse through and a wide selection of places to eat and drink. The airport also provides free Wi-Fi and even has its own indoor Zen gardens to relax in before your journey.

Airport Information - Departing

Borg El Arab International Airport is the primary airport serving Alexandria made up of a single passenger terminal. The airport is a fair distance away from central Alexandria at 45km and transportation links are minimal, so your best bet is to arrange a taxi to make the journey. Once you have got to the airport there are plenty of things to do including a range of shops and places to eat and drink available. A sizable duty-free shopping area is also available so you can pick up some cheap goods before flying out.

What to Expect in Dubai

Although some nationals can enter Dubai without needing a visa, Egyptian nationals will first have to obtain a visa before making the journey. In Dubai temperatures a hotter compared to Alexandria but do cool down a bit over the winter between December and February. You can generally expect prices in Dubai to be higher than Alexandria so make sure you’re careful with your spending if you’re on a budget. You can conveniently explore Dubai on the Dubai Metro which even goes to the airport, although taxis are easily found if you would prefer to get around this way.
